What's happening around the world?

Several countries, including Australia, have prioritised switching to electric cars in their plans to reach their climate goals. So far, 17 countries have announced 100% zero-emission vehicles, including Canada, the European Union, Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, and Switzerland, which target to phase out internal combustion engine vehicles by 2050.

As of 2021, China has sold more than three million passenger EVs, surpassing the US. China also has over 400 registered brands in the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) industry and over 500,000 electric buses, accounting for a staggering 98% of the global figure.

As of 2021, the countries with the most electric cars in traffic are China, the United States, and Japan. These countries have seen significant growth in the adoption of EVs in recent years, driven by government incentives, improvements in technology and infrastructure, and increasing consumer demand for sustainable transportation options. In addition, many other countries around the world are also seeing an increase in the number of EVs on the roads, as the technology becomes more affordable and widespread.
